What’s the Difference in Icings?

American buttercream is your traditional sweet 

buttercream that most people are familiar with.

The Swiss Meringue buttercream is a little 

lighter and creamier and less sweet.

Cream Cheese frosting is more like American buttercream in consistency. It's a slightly tart, sweet icing that goes well with a red velvet or cinnamon cake.
